Halloween 2009

Halloween this year was busy as ever at the Haws household. Our day started with me heading off to a baptism and then getting home in time to have some lunch and get dressed up. This year Lilly went as Snow White. She was so excited about this princess. She asked to be Snow White before she ever saw the movie, which I have to admit, surprised me a little. Molly was a pink kitty cat this year. Aaron was James Bond, just back from a mission, and I was a bunny. After we finally all got dressed up, we headed out to old town Pocatello for some trick-or-treating of the businesses down there. It was busy as usual, but Lilly loved it. Every time she would get a piece of candy she would say, "let's go get more candy!" She had so much fun. After we were finished there we went to the mall for a few minutes and then we headed to McDonald's for dinner. It was pretty funny to watch people look at us because we were all dressed up. After McDonald's we headed out to our neighborhood trunk-or-treat. It was a lot of fun. This was the first time in 2 years that they have had it, and I thought it was pretty successful. We were, of course, the only people to decorate our trunk. Everyone thought it was fun. After we finished trunk-or-treating we went back to the mall with a friend. She didn't want to go by herself so we went with her. The kids got buckets of candy, because it was close to the end and they were trying to get rid of it all. After all of that lovely trick-or-treating we headed home and promptly put the kids to bed. They were exhausted and fell asleep faster than ever. We had a great Halloween and I hope that every ones was fun and safe! Of course there aren't any pictures of me yet. My friend snapped a few, so I will post those when I get them.

The girls, this was one of the only pictures where they were both looking in the same general direction!

Preschool Halloween Party

Today Lilly had a party at preschool. She was so excited to wear her costume to school, and could hardly contain herself on the drive to school. She went as Snow White this year, and she chose that all by herself. I think that makes it so much more fun when they get so excited because they chose it themselves. She had a great time at school. She made a spider bracelet, decorated cookies, played candy walk, and pin the smile on the pumpkin, had yummy apples and caramel and of course they got a lot of candy! She is loving her new found friends at school and it was fun for me to see how much she has grown just in these few short months.

Our Kitchen Helper

Lately anytime that we have been doing anything in the kitchen...

Here comes Lilly armed with her apron and stool. She loves to see what's happening and it is nice to have more help in the kitchen. We sure do love our 3 year old!

It's Cold!

The other morning Lilly thought that it was freezing outside. So before we could go anywhere, she had to get all suited up for preschool! She just really wants to wear her hat and gloves. It has taken me a while to convince her that yes it is cold, but we don't quite need our gloves and hat. She is such a girl, so totally into her accessories!

10 Months Old!

I can hardly believe that Molly is already 10 months old! She is just growing so fast. We call her our little squeaker. In church we have to take her out not because she is grumpy, but because she is so happy! She just squeals non-stop. She weighs in at 23 pounds (and counting)! She isn't quite crawling, but she gets a little closer each day. She is very content and just likes to play, as long as what she wants is within reach. She has 7 teeth, 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. She loves her big sister and loves to play with her even more. She loves looking at pictures of the family, and puts her hand on people while she squeals. We love having her in our home and couldn't imagine it without her fun loving personality! Love you baby girl!

Ward Halloween Party

We had a super fun ward party the other night. We had a chili cook off, which we didn't win and yummy corn bread. During the party they asked for a few families to come and dress up their priesthood holder for a fashion show. There were some pretty funny things happening after that. Aaron ended up being Aggie from that show: How Clean is Your House? He was hilarious. It was so much fun to hang out with others from our ward and just have a great time.

Molly's New Toys

Lately Molly has been really into Lilly's toys. She just wants to be a part of all the there is to do. So anytime there is a toy she really wants, she somehow gets over there. But apparently it isn't enough to play with the toy, she also needs to sit on top of it as well!

Friends

The other night Lilly's friend Hannah came over to play while us ladies went to a meeting. They just cuddled up and watched a show together, of course while playing princess. Aaron thought it was so fun to see such good friends. Before you know it, they will be having sleep overs and talking about boys..... heaven help me!

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we went to our friends house to carve pumpkins. Our girls were so funny. Hannah and Lilly thought it was fun, until they had to help clean out the pumpkins, then they wanted nothing to do with it. They did love the carving part though and were so happy with what we came up with. I was proud of all of us because we didn't use any pre-made templates. All of our pumpkins were free hand. Molly was a little grumpy, because she didn't want to play with Logan, who is 6 months older than her. He was trying to be nice to her, but since she still isn't quite mobile, she didn't appreciate his attempts to play. After pumpkin carving, the girls decided that they needed to dress up and dance around. I love how they are becoming such good friends.

Applesauce

Today we canned applesauce. I had some really great helpers in the kitchen and I am so proud of the way it all turned out. I think it looks great and it tastes great too.

Here are some of the finished jars

Lilly was such a good helper. She was involved in all of it!

Apple Pie Filling

This year Aaron and I really wanted to can apple pie filling. Here is the finished product. It looked great and smelled even better while I was making the sauce for the filling. I just love canning and it is so good for our girls to one day learn this skill.

Baptism and Blessing

This last weekend we had the chance to go to White Bird for the Baptism of my nephew Bladen and also for the baby blessing of my other nephew Tucker. We had a really nice low key weekend and it was especially nice to catch up with my grandparents who were able to come from California. We were a little under the weather, but all in all I think everything turned out great. We were also able to have all the great grandchildren there so we could take these priceless pictures with their great grand parents!

First Time For Everything

Well I guess there is a first time for everything. For us it is an ear infection. That's right, in the last 3+ years we have never had an ear infection until now. I wasn't even really sure how to handle one. Pneumonia, no problem. But an ear infection, that's a different story for us. Molly was the lucky recipient of the first Haws Ear Infection. I am happy to report that she is doing much better and the meds seem to have take effect much quicker than I had expected.
