Solvang

We were able to spend time with the rest of the family down in Solvang and Santa Ynez. We always have such a great time. Lauren took us in to Solvang so we could enjoy some of the unique sites. Thanks for going with us Lauren!

The Santa Barbara Zoo

On the one sunny day in Santa Barbara we decided to head out and go to the zoo. We had a really great time. Because of all the rain, all the animals were really active on this one sunny day of the week. Lilly loved the otters. They were so active and playful. Aaron had a great time with a white cockateal?? He would whistle and then the bird would whistle back at him. Then the bird would just start dancing. He did it forever, until we got tired of it anyway. Molly's favorite part was the fake hill and the cardboard boxes. She had a blast sledding on a box and couldn't get enough of it. All in all it was a really fun day! We always enjoy the zoo.

Yogurtland

After the zoo we headed downtown to the Farmer's market and a stop at Yogurtland. It is one of those yogurt bars where you pick your yogurt and toppings and then pay for it by the ounce. Anyway, the kids love it. Apparently they love it so much I even ended up relinquishing mine to them as well!

The Beginning of Spring Break

We started our Spring Break off in the rain. It rained most of the week. We also started with a trip to the dentist and then lunch at Pascucci. I am sure you have heard me mention it before, but we LOVE Pascucci. I don't know why, we always leave with garlic breath but hey, we like our Italian I guess. Anyway, the little fountain in the restaurant ended up being the hit of the day for the girls.

After lunch we headed to the Ty Warner Sea Museum. We had never been here before. The girls thought it was great although they didn't want to touch any of the sea animals. Lilly got brave enough to touch the sand shark and the star fish, but Molly wouldn't touch a thing. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and a great way to get out of the rain.

Lilly's First Visit to the Dentist

Lilly has seen the dentist before... a.k.a. her Grandpa, but she has never before let him take a look at her teeth, and she has certainly never sat down in "the chair" But, during our trip to California over spring break she was very willing to get her teeth checked. It might have helped that they had an entire day at preschool dedicated to teeth. We also did our part by reading the Tooth Book and talking about checking our teeth before we can go to Kindergarten. Anyway, she was so excited to get her teeth checked. While we were waiting Lilly kept saying "I am not going to bite my dentist Mom!" I just thought it was so cute, how sincere she was. When it came time for her to get her teeth checked/cleaned she sat right down and opened her mouth. She loved getting her teeth "tickled" as we call it. Her Granddaddy was so impressed with her teeth that he even had Uncle Max come in to check them out too. Lilly was so happy that everyone told her she had such nice teeth. By the end of it all, Lilly left with a huge smile, a great experience and mermaid electric toothbrush. Great Job Lilly!

Swim Lessons

Lilly has been doing swim lessons lately. She has really gotten so comfortable with the water. I couldn't ask for more! She can now go under the water without freaking out, she is also fine now without the water wings and she can swim by herself with a noodle now. I can hardly wait to take her swimming now. It will be so much fun to see her enjoying herself instead of being so nervous about it. Way to go Lilly!

Rain and Swimming

Anytime there is a hint of rain Lilly has to wear her rain coat and boots. She just loves this outfit.

Molly on the other hand can't wait until she can go swimming. She loves, loves, loves the water!

Disney On Ice

A few years ago my sister and I went to Disney On Ice. We decided to go again this year and when my sister told my Mom she wanted in on our fun too! So we ended up having a purely girls weekend in Utah. I brought Lilly and Molly, April brought Claire and my Mom brought Amber. We also hung out with April's friend Anjie and Mckinley. Anyway, we started off at The Myan for dinner. This is always such a fun place to go. The kids were enthralled with the shows and the water and just the atmosphere in general. We had a really great time. Back at the hotel we decided to take the kids swimming at around 10:00 pm that night. They were exhausted but wanted to go swimming so bad that we had to take them.
The next day we went shopping, and shopping and more shopping. I think we were all ready to drop by the time we were finished. Then we had dinner and headed to the show. We originally decided to get the cheap seats cause we thought that wouldn't be too bad. They were first row. well we got to our seats and they were so high, we were all a little nervous about it. So nervous that my Mom took us back downstairs and upgraded our tickets. (Really, we are all afraid of heights! So thanks mom for the upgrade). Anyway, the only seats left were 7 rows back. They were the best seats ever! Molly and Lilly loved it. Lilly was much more quiet than Molly. Molly just cheered and hollered and loved the show. She got pretty rowdy when Mickey and Minnie came out. They are her favorite! Anyway, we had a great time! It was so much fun to spend time with family.

Craft Time...Again!

My friend Sarah and I have been wanting to do a craft for a while now. We just couldn't decide what we wanted to do. We ended up deciding to make these measure boards for the girls. One for my two and one for her daughter. We were so excited to get started on this project. It took us some time, but in the end they turned out super cute. I think it's awesome to see what you can do with a cricut and some paint! The girls were so excited, they wanted to measure themselves as soon as they were finished.

Bowling

We recently went bowling with our friends the Feils. We always have such a great time. The kids especially love it! They think it is the greatest game ever. Lilly always gives us such funny little poses. I am proud to say though......for the first time ever....... let the record show that I, Heather, came out on top! By a lot. Needless to say, everyone must have had a very bad game because I never win. And most of the time, the kids beat me too.

Our Little Fashionista

Molly has turned into quite the fashionista at our house. Before she was born we got Lilly a dress up chest, which she has never really played with. She just isn't into dressing up, but Molly, oh boy! I took her into Lilly's room and opened the chest and you would have thought that it was Christmas, she was so excited. I knew she would love it. She is very particular. She is already picking out her own shoes to wear and if we don't put the right ones on her, well let's just say, it's like the world might end for her! She is loving Barbies right now. We just recently got a Ken doll and she is so funny. She just walks around and she will tell anyone who will listen that this is Ken. She is all girl! I just found this fun tutorial on making your own play make-up. I can hardly wait to make it because I know that Molly is going to have a hay day with it. We sure love our girly-girl. She is so much fun!

Sisters

These two girls just love each other. They fight a lot! But they also play a ton together. Molly wants to do anything that Lilly does. I feel so blessed to have these two girls. They are so much fun.
