Happy Birthday Mom!

For my Mom's birthday we weren't able to do much as we were preparing for Prom that night. She did get some very pretty flowers and I did decorate her kitchen - so I hope she knows that she was loved! Happy Birthday Mom. We love you. Thanks for everything that you do. You're the best!

Mom and her sort of cake. We were serving some grasshopper pie for dessert for Prom, so Mom got to have it as her birthday cake too!

She is supposed to be blowing out the candle, but I was too quick on the trigger!

Molly of course loved the ice cream and my Dad loved giving it to her. She has had more ice cream, in that week than ever in her life!

To Bribe or not to Bribe?

All week Molly wasn't really sure what to do with her self, but at the end, well I think the pictures speak for themselves....

She quickly warmed up to Grandpa when he took her out on a four wheeler ride. She was so excited to wear his hat, and if you look closely you will see the evidence of his bribery around her mouth. Apparently Grandpa's been using chocolate!

But here we have Grandma and there is no evidence of bribery present..hmm, which works better. Molly looks pretty happy either way.

4-H Penny Carnival

My sister-in-law Cody invited us to go with her and the kids to a 4-H penny carnival. Lilly was so excited about it. She did better than I expected on the games and walked away with quite a bit of candy and prizes. Good job Lilly!

Lilly and the ring toss, she actually got one around the bottle. Impressive, no?

Prom

I was able to go and visit my Mom and Dad this week! It is always nice to get away. I of course didn't take very many pictures until the end of our trip, but in my defense, we were incredibly busy all week. We started the week by attending a meeting and organizing the Senior class fundraiser. The fundraiser was a Brown Bag Lunch. I think it ended up being more successful than expected. So between the fundraiser, shopping for all the fixings, making 400 sandwiches, getting mani's and pedi's (I know, hard life!) It was also my Mom's birthday and my little sister senior prom. For the prom we were doing a big dinner for my sister and a few friends. It ended up being great. I think we were very tired by the end of the week, but it was a successful week!

Amber wanted to make sure that everyone knew which door to come in - the rest of us just jokingly said welcome to the wedding!

This is the table setting. We had this whole black and white theme with yellow to compliment Amber's dress. I swear my Mom and I can't do stuff like this anymore, we just validate everything and end up doing way more than we probably should. But we had fun doing it!

While I was helping Amber with her hair, she broke her headband! We were in a crunch to come up with something different, but lucky for her she had me, the bow making and inventive sister on hand! We quickly wrapped a headband in some fabric the same color as her dress and added some bling. I think it turned out pretty cute and she told me that she got a lot of compliments on it that night - whew, one disaster averted!

Here are the prom pictures that I was able to get.

From top going clockwise: Amber and her date Caleb, their star at prom, the group at dinner. Again Amber and Caleb, and last but not least Amber and Dad.

We went to the Promenade and Lilly was in heaven she thought all the girls looked like princesses and anytime a girl came out she would clap and talk all about the color of their dresses. She was really sad that we couldn't stay and dance the night away - but soon enough it will come!

Pink Medicine

Well here we are again. Pink medicine is again present in our fridge. I have to say though, I think Molly really likes this medicine. She gets mad when she has had her full dose. And as you can see, she sucks up every last drop!

Cracked Chin

Tonight when Lilly was getting out of the bath she apparently slipped and hit her chin on the side of the tub. Luckily Aaron was right there to comfort her. When I came in to see what was going on, because after all there were tears, Aaron said that while she was getting out she slipped and cracked her chin. So Lilly comes up to me tearfully and says "Mom I cracked my chin and I really need a band aid for my cracked chin." So I said sure, no problem. I mean if it helps to make her feel better then why not. So we put the band aid on and then she says "I want to go show April." I said why don't we just take a picture and you can show her that way instead. She picks up everything that we say, so now she is walking around talking about how she cracked her chin and she is going to show April (her Aunt) her picture!

Molly's New Favorite Thing

Molly has discovered this little rocking chair that I just recently got back out. She loves to get into it, but she doesn't know how to turn around. This is what I found...

Sitting backwards, legs through the slats, sucking her thumb. What gets much better than that!

Table runner

I could not for the life of me find a table runner anywhere! So, I decided to make one. I found some Easter towels on sale and began cutting them apart. I am not the best seamstress, but I sewed everything together, added the egg design from the towels and wala! It was pretty cute.

Dessert

For our Easter dinner dessert, we made this delicious chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake! It was seriously yummy! If you want the recipe visit our food blog at:

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. The girls loved it, which always makes it worth it. We were able to have a friend for dinner so we had some company, and the food was great!

Lilly and Molly loved their baskets. We all got sunglasses from the Easter bunny, here they are!

For Easter we got this cute bunny bread! I loved it and was sad to see us tear it apart! I of course didn't get any pictures of the food, but here is the table. I made these little Easter baskets for our place cards. I think it turned out cute. Aaron just kept laughing at me, but I wanted it to be really special. I think it was very special and it was a great day!

This is what happens when you leave your one year old alone and her basket on the floor. She was so proud!

Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny visited our house!

Lunch with Friends

After conference we were able to go to lunch with our friends. It was so nice to visit. We went to Red Robin (yumm!) Thanks again Brooke and Matt for watching our kids and for letting us hang with you!

Conference

On Saturday, Aaron and I were able to attend the Saturday morning session of conference. I was so surprised when Aaron got tickets and I was so excited because I have never been to conference before. It was definitely a special experience. We headed down to Utah on Friday night and stayed with our friends, Brooke and Matt. The next morning we got up early and headed out to the train station. I have never been on a train that I can remember. Since we were staying in Clearfield, it was so much easier and smarter to just take the train in for conference. One train ride and one traxx ride later we were at the conference center. I think Aaron was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was for us to get to conference. I think he was also very happy that we didn't have to deal with parking! Conference was amazing! I am so glad that I got to experience it at least once in my life. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew that the spirit would be strong and it most certainly was. What a great start to our Easter weekend.

Sugar Cookies

We haven't decorated any sugar cookies for a while and so we decided to get back into the swing of it. Lilly is such a big helper and wants to be involved in every step. I love having her help and I hope it will be a benefit to her in her future.

I didn't get any pictures of Lilly's sugar cookies because they would be gone as fast as she made them. So this picture is of the cookies I decorated. We wanted to have a few that we could give away to neighbors.

Lilly decided that she needed to combine all the sprinkles that she could into one container. It was a mess, but she loved it just the same!

Loving her cookie!

Nice and Messy!

Step 1: Roll out cookie dough and cut out shape.
Step 2: Show off your beautiful shape!
Step 3: Frost (Big globs are best!)
Step 4: Sprinkle liberally with any kind of delicious sugary substance.
Step 5: ENJOY!
