Popcorn!

The other day Aaron was going out of town for the night and so I decided to make some popcorn for Lilly and I. I knew that she liked popcorn, but I was surprised at how much she loved it! She was trying to take handfuls of it and then shovel in as much as possible. She was demanding more and more! finally it came
to me just putting the popcorn bowl on the ground and just letting her take what she wanted. I think she could probably eat 3/4 of a bag of popcorn if she wanted to. It is now the new favorite snack in our house!

The Wedding Luncheon

After the wedding we went to PF Changs (YUM! YUM!) It was the best lunch ever. As part of the family tradition the uncles all get up and sing a song to the new couple. It is called the Uncles Song and it is all about how the new groom (in this case) now has to go and get a job and live in the real world! It is really funny! We all had such a great time, and the food couldn't have been better.

A Thanksgiving Wedding

Aaron, Lilly, and I went to San Diego the week before Thanksgiving for a wedding. Nelson (Aaron's Nephew) and Nikki got married on Friday, November 16th in the San Diego Temple. It was fun to be there and the temple is beautiful! It was a long trip but it was worth it!

Lilly and the Onion

Aaron and I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how many toys Lilly has because she will always find something better to play with. And usually it is something really simple that I would never guess she would play with!

The other day I had the pantry closet open and Lilly crawled in their and found the bin with the onions in it. Well she picked out an onion and proceeded to throw it around the kitchen. She would make it roll everywhere and then she would go chase after it and repeat the cycle. She did this for a couple of hours at least! She would sometime stop and study the onion and then when she was satisfied she would throw it again. I think in the end I had to throw away the onion because it was pretty bruised and banged up. Isn't it funny the things our kids would rather play with?!?

Date night at Home

Aaron and I wanted to have a date night but we couldn't go out. So I decided to make a special dinner for just Aaron and I. We fed Lilly and put her to bed. This blog is really for Aaron because he said I had to take a picture. He said the food looked like it was from a restaurant and that it tasted like it was from a restaurant to. What a great compliment! I made Cornish game hens with Asparagus and Parmesan mashed potatoes. The pre-course was a dinner salad with a Parmesan crisp on top! Yum Yum! It was a great Date night at home!

The 24 Month Old Outfit

When Lilly was born my sister-in-law Camene sent us this cute little outfit for Lilly. It said on the tag that it was a 24 month outfit so I put it away. I have since looked at the outfit many times and wished that Lilly could fit into it. Well surprise, surprise today I realized (because things have been so crazy around here), that I didn't have any clothes for Lilly to wear. I pulled out this outfit just thinking, "well, it will just have to be baggy and she will just have to deal with it!" I put it on her and it surprisingly fits! I am sure glad that I found that out before it was too late. This just teaches me once again that I have to try clothes on her and not necessarily go by what the tag says! As you moms out there know, every outfit is totally different, and this is just another lesson in that!

Thanks Aunt Camene for this cute outfit. I sure love it!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween to everyone. We hope that you all had a great evening of candy, candy, and more candy! We had quite the eventful night around our house. Lilly was dressed this year as a pink kitty cat. We of course had to deliver the traditional Halloween Cupcakes to different people around town. After that we went to my sister April's ward for a Trunk-or-Treat. There was tons of people and tons of candy! we had a great time. All Lilly wanted to do was crawl around on the ground - I guess that fits in with a cat!

Here are this years spooky treats! Wasn't she a pretty pink Kitty Cat!?!

Don't you just love the tail! Here is Kitty Cat Lilly, Butterfly

Fun on the Slide

I discovered the other day that Lilly is getting really good at going down slides, and she thinks that they are so much fun. So today we took her to the mall playground (the weather outside wasn't the greatest!) She had the best time! Most of the time she just looks around at the other kids playing. This time, however, she wanted in on some of the action. She even tried to climb on the "Mountains" like the other kids. She also went through the tunnel for the first time. Usually she is scared to! Oh, how fast she is growing up!

Catch me Mom!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I think now I'll lay down!

Should I try it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OK, Here I go!

Caught in Action

Lilly thinks that it is really fun to pull the movies off of the shelf. Well she usually does it when no one is around because she knows she isn't supposed to do it. On Saturday morning I happened to be in the room with her holding the camera and this is what she did! She went over to the movies really slowly and as soon as she got there she would look back at me to see if I was watching. Then she would reach up and grab the movies that she knows will come out the easiest. After she pulled them off and I told her no, she just looked back at me kind of like "Me? Why would I do such a thing?" Then she just crawls off smiling. What a little turkey!

Here we go!

Opps, Mom they fell! Oh, well on to the next thing!

Dinner and a Nap

Things have been really crazy around our house lately, and apparently it has worn Lilly out! On Saturday Lilly was pretty fussy and we thought it was because she was hungry for dinner. We put her in her chair and we all sat down to dinner. Within 5 minutes she started nodding off into her food. She would wake with a start and then nod off again. She did this about 10 times before she didn't wake up anymore! We just had to take a picture! Good thing she was already in her PJ's!

Play Time

Lilly has never slept in our bed, and it is a good thing too because she thinks that it is play time for her. She will lay down and play with our faces or she will play with the sheets because she thinks they are so great! One of her new favorite things is to help mom change the sheets on the bed, that way she can play with them. She has also gotten really into the camera and thinks that if she looks into it she will see something!

Fall!

Fall has come full swing into Pocatello Idaho! This first picture is of Aaron's family cabin in Preston Idaho, the leaves have really started to change. In the next photos we decided to rake up the leaves in our backyard. Lilly wasn't so sure about them at first but after a little while she thought they were great fun to play with. She wouldn't even look at the camera because she was so busy studying the leaves!
She wanted to play with the leaves, she just didn't want to be in the leaves!

Teddy Bears and Toothbrushes

One of Lilly's new favorite things to do is to carry her toothbrush around with her. In fact it is the only way that I can do her hair in the morning. Well the other day she discovered that she has a little rocking chair in her bedroom. She thought that was so great! She wanted to climb up in the chair (holding her toothbrush of course) and rock in the chair. So here she is holding a teddy bear and a toothbrush. After a little while of course she decided she needed both hands to enjoy her chair so she threw down all her toys and just sat there.

One Last Birthday Present

The other day Lilly received two more Birthday presents! I was so excited, and way too curious about what they were. One came from Aunt Lauren and the other from Grandma Haws. We got three great outfits from Grandma and an awesome knob puzzle and pull toy from Aunt Lauren. Lilly just loves it. Thanks Grandma and Aunt Lauren! We look forward to seeing you both really soon!

The Backyard

September has come full force into Pocatello Idaho and the days have been getting cooler. We have really begun to enjoy this especially since it makes it nicer to be outside in the yard without any shade required. Lilly really loves to go outside. She just loves to explore and see new things.

She loves to go higher than this! and Yeah for Idaho State, afterall I have to support my husbands school!

The Busy Month of August and a New Car

I haven't been able to update the Blog lately and a lot has happened this month. We have been busy with Ear Surgery, Finding a daycare for Lilly, Traveling, a car breaking down, buying a new car, planning and celebrating Lilly's First Birthday, and going back to/catching up on Work! Needless to say it is only going to get busier for us as the holidays start coming!

Yes you read correctly! Aaron and I have made another (Lilly being the first) large decision to purchase a car for our family. It was a long time coming and I personally didn't want to make that change in our lives, in fact I enjoyed not having a car payment to make. Aaron has been ready for quite sometime to get a new car and I have not. Then 2 weeks ago after visiting with my parents at their house, I was on my way home from Boise and the car died. It is hard to explain exactly what happened. All I know is that Lilly and I were sitting on the side of the road while the car rattled with every passing truck. That was obviously the straw that broke the camels back and I was now prepared to get a reliable car. Lucky for me the car started and only broke down twice more before I got to our friends house in Twin Falls. Aaron came and followed me home to make sure that I wouldn't get stranded. It was quite the eventful night for us especially since we had to be up and out of our house at 5:00 am the following morning for Aaron's Ear Surgery. We didn't get to bed until 2:00 am, and the next day I slept maybe 1.5 hours total. Needless to say I was tired and ready for a reliable Ride.

So this last Saturday Aaron and I went out looking for cars and we came across this White Toyota Camry (we already knew the kind of car we wanted). The price was right and so we made a deal. Obviously from the pictures there is really dark tinting on the windows. We are having the dealership take that down a few notches. By 5:00 pm we were the proud new owners of this car. Some of you may be asking why we didn't get a family car, well it is simple really. This car will be mine to drive (I don't know how I got so lucky!) for the next year and a half that Aaron is in school. We still have our Subaru and we know that within 4 years that car will die to. So by the time we even need a family car the Subaru will have died and we will then get our family car and this car will be Aaron's commuting car, which is great because the thing gets 32 miles to the gallon in town. That is definitely a money saver!
