Molly's Newest Trick

I have been watching my nephews twice a week while my sister teaches preschool. It has been really good for the kids, especially since they are all so close in age. Owen and Lilly are 3 months apart, and Grant and Molly are 3 months apart! Molly has been watching Grant and his many skills, which include climbing up and down our two little steps in our house and standing up against the furniture. Molly thinks this is great and I am proud to say that she has learned a thing or two. Molly is now standing up against the furniture and she has gotten really good at it this week. She is also learning the stairs. She is getting up on the first one, but gets stuck from there. I guess she will have to watch Grant more so she can figure it out. Today I sat down next to her and she was on the step. She so obviously didn't know how to get off the step so she pretty much just leaned over. She meant to catch herself, but it definitely didn't work! She is such a girl though. Anytime she falls from the standing position she just cries and cries until she stands back up! We are definitely gearing up for more drama out our house!

Thankful

I am so thankful for a wonderful sister who is so willing to give up her precious family time on a Saturday to come and help her sick sister with her kids. Thank you so much April! You will never know how much I appreciated your help!

First Brushing

We decided that it was finally time to brush Molly's teeth. We have been holding off because she has been teething like crazy. She went from having 7 teeth (which took forever) to having 12 total in the last 2 weeks. Needless to say, she has been a lot of fun while she has teethed 5 teeth!
She thought it was really great to brush her teeth, especially since she has watched Lilly do it. she did not want my help though, she is much too independent for that! She wanted to do it all by herself.

Picking Out Her Outfit

Typically at our house, Lilly will just wear whatever I put her in. Today however was a little different. She decided what she needed to wear. I think this stems from the fact that I just bought her some new tights and belts. She is apparently feeling the need to wear it all. So without further ado, here is what Lilly picked out to wear today!

She is just so proud of her outfit. We went out to Costco and she spent like 5 minutes telling one of the sample ladies all about her belt. She was also really happy that it was snowing today (even though it was just a little) but it gave her the chance to wear her snow boots. Aaron couldn't believe that I was going to let her go out that way, but I figured, Why not? I guess it's time for her to express herself!

Daddy's Girls

I just wanted to show this picture of Aaron with his girls. They just love when daddy comes home and plays with them.

Look At My School Work!

Lilly makes a ton of projects at pre-school so I decided to just put them all up on her wall and then take pictures. These are all her projects from her first half of school. She is always so proud of her work. I have loved seeing how it has evolved as she has grown more in school.

Random Funny

Last night at dinner Lilly put a tortilla up in front of her face and said "Look at me I'm a taco!" She thought this was pretty hilarious and went on to laugh for a good 5-10 minutes. So funny!

Candy Necklaces

We gave the girls some candy necklaces to eat and here was the result....

They didn't know how to bite just one candy off so by the end they had sticky stuff all over their cheeks and necks. It was pretty funny and they were certainly proud of themselves!

Weekend Fun

This weekend we went to the cabin with our friends the Blauer's. We had so much fun! We went on Friday night, so that was basically a get settled in and relax night. On Saturday we relaxed all morning (Molly did not sleep well) and then we headed out to play in the snow. It was great and the girls had so much fun. Lilly loves to snowmobile. She didn't want to get off. We also did some sledding, which was a big hit with the kids. We played tons of games - and don't worry Jeff no grudges because you won almost everything! We had a great time. Thanks Blauer's, we'd love to do it again!

Britton, Jeff and Hannah - this is about all she would do with the snowmobile!

Dance Recital

Lilly had her first dance recital! It was so great. She was so excited all day and was even a little concerned when we had to stop to get some batteries for the camera at the store. All she wanted to do was go to her recital. We arrived early and got a great seat. She is taking dance classes at the Community Center so there were tons of dancers there. When it was finally close to Lilly's turn for her dance she went out and waited her turn. She started to get a little nervous, so I went and stood off stage while she did her dance with her class. Some of the pictures are a little dark, but Aaron was trying to hold the camera and Molly at the same time, not a good combo! Lilly was also having a great time watching the other dances, so we stayed until the end. They gave out flowers for the dancers and Lilly couldn't have been more excited! We are so proud of you Lilly! You did a great job!

The start of the dance. Her dance teacher is hugely pregnant, I was impressed that she could do half the stuff she was doing that night!

Her first real flower! She loves it!

Hello?

Molly is doing something new now. Anytime she gets a hold of our cell phones she immediately puts it to her ear. She is even starting to say her own version of hello. So cute. I love watching how she is growing.

Christmas Dresses

The girls didn't get to wear their Christmas dresses until we got home from our trip. Lilly was so excited to wear her dress to her first day in Primary. As usual, Molly could have cared less and didn't care for a picture either! I love having two girls in a row. They just laugh and play and love to get dressed up together! So much fun!

Worn Out

So our trip home went great, but we apparently wore out our girls. Molly was in her high chair eating lunch. I knew it was quiet for a while, so I walked in and this is what I found. We wore her out good!

Home!

Well we are finally home from our vacation to California. I will update (a lot!) later but for now we just wanted to say that we hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
