Crafting Mania!

Lately I have been doing a ton of crafts. I don't know what it is exactly because I have never felt quite this much drive to do it before, only because I am so busy making bows most of the time. I think I have felt the need because life is changing so much around us. We are (hopefully) getting a new job and beginning a new phase in our married life. The "Non-College" phase. I feel like I am growing up and that means that my style and preferences are changing as well. Seeing as we don't have a job yet, I have come to the conclusion that crafting is the best way for me to show my changes around here. I've made a few things that I am really loving for Halloween and I couldn't be happier with it. Poor Aaron just has to deal with the mess that comes with it! Up next, I really want to make t-shirts with the freezer paper stenciling. I just have to find the right paint to use. Any suggestions?

Ok, I didn't make the hat, but I did put tulle on it

I made the web out of coffee filters. The spider is beaded, that guy took a little time but the end result was worth it.

I just loved how this one turned out! It cost me nothing because I had everything on hand!

Another version that is in the living room. It doesn't have quite the "pop" that the other one does, but I still like it.

Van Go!!

Yep, it's official! We've become one of those "mini-van" families!! And let us just say, it's not as bad as everyone says! We traded in our '07 Camry, filled with memories, and came home with this '09 Toyota Sienna with half the miles for no money down, AND the exact same monthly payments we were paying on the Camry! Cha-ching! It has so much room, AND 19 cup holders! (Heather counted them herself!) Lilly loves being able to get in and push the button to close the power sliding door all by herself like a big girl!! The girls also love the rear DVD player! We are so happy with our purchase, and are looking forward to making fun memories on road trips for years to come without being squished anymore!

ISU Homecoming Parade

Today we went to the ISU Homecoming Parade. It was a lot of fun. We haven't really done that many things with ISU so it was fun to see the college spirit come out in force. I brought a little bag with us for the candy because I really didn't anticipate getting all that much stuff. We got a ton! Our bag was overflowing! The girls had a good time. It was a really long parade though, it went on for an hour and a half. Lilly was getting kind of tired of picking up candy by the end of it and Molly just wanted to play in the dirt and rocks. It was a great parade. I am glad we could go.

Aaron S. Haws, MPH

Today Aaron finished his THESIS!!!!! He is done with it! I am so excited for him. He did a great job with his presentation. His PowerPoint was superb (thank you very much!) Afterward we were so excited we decided to go out and celebrate. We went to Texas Roadhouse with our friends and when we got there we found out it was kids night too. It was awesome. They took the older kids away for like 15 minutes (which is heaven for parents) and did balloon animals and face painting. We got cool drinks and toasted Aaron for his accomplishment. Then there was a clown who came by the table and made balloon animals for the little ones. After that, the Armadillo mascot came around and passed out little toys to the kids. By this point we were pretty impressed. Our friend Jasen went and told them that it was Aaron's birthday (after all we were celebrating) and so they came out with a saddle and made Aaron get on it and yell "Yee Haw" It was hilarious! Then they gave him cake and ice cream and the kids got cake and ice cream too. It sure was a great night to celebrate. Congratulations Aaron. I am so proud of you!

The Girls - But Mostly Lilly

I wanted to get some pictures of the girls just to see how big they are getting. Lilly thinks the camera is super great and does all kinds of poses for it. Molly is only patient enough for one picture. Oh well, maybe someday I will get pretty good pictures! They are both getting so big! Molly is now 21 months and Lilly is 4. Time sure is flying by us.

Preschool Art

We were cleaning up and cleaning out Lilly's room and we decided it was time to take down her preschool art from last year. So here is just a look so Lilly can remember all the fun things she did in preschool.

Demolition Derby

It's confession time: I have never been to the Eastern Idaho State Fair! So when our friends called and asked if we wanted to go to the demolition derby with them we thought it would be a great chance to go. It was a blast. We had a great time getting food, watching boys with their toys and just laughing.

First Day of Preschool

Lilly had her first day of preschool today. She was so excited to go. The great thing is that it is only a block from our house so we can just walk there everyday. She loves it and can even ride her bike (if we leave early enough)! Good Luck Lilly. I know you'll do great!
