Her First Birthday Party
I just had to take a picture of Molly ready to go to her first birthday party. She was so incredibly excited to go and she had the best time. Man, they sure grow up so fast!

The Cast
On Friday we went to the park with some friends to have lunch and ride bikes. Lilly was walking on the path toward me and her friend was riding her bike back towards us. they heard each other and they both moved over to get around the other. Then her friend accidentally ran into Lilly and Lilly fell. I didn't really think anything of it at the time. Lilly said that her arm hurt but I told her that she might have just hurt it a little and it just needed to sleep on it and she would probably be fine.
On Saturday she was complaining all day about her arm hurting. I really just thought that she was extra tired and needed to sleep. Finally in the afternoon we opted to just take her to the urgent care place. I really was sitting in there thinking that we were here for nothing and she would be just fine. We went and got an x-ray and low and behold she had a buckle fracture. So they gave her a soft cast and sling and sent us on our way.
Then on Tuesday we went to the orthopedist to get the real cast. Lilly was such a trooper about the whole thing. She is so excited to have people sign it and everything. She only has to wear it for 4 weeks and it's waterproof so we don't have to worry about it getting wet. We are just glad that she is OK and all will heal well.

Bath Paints
The other day I made the kids some bath paints. They thought these were the coolest thing. I was a little nervous because I didn't want the food coloring to dye my bathtub, but it washed off easily and the kids had a great time!
Here's how to make it:
1 Tbsp Cornstarch
4-6 pumps baby shampoo
1-2 tsp water
2-3 drops food coloring
I mixed together like a quadruple batch or more so that we could have a few more colors, and I didn't add the food coloring until I had the mixture divided up. I used a plastic cupcake holder and it worked awesome because it floated in the water. You could also try using an ice cube tray, although I don't know how well it will float.
So I filled up the bathtub and put the colors in and let the kids go to town. Then I had them wash it all off. It worked out really great!

Teeth! Teeth, They're Everywhere!
Lilly hit a new milestone...She has lost the first of her teeth. She lost her first 3 in six days! The first came out May 17th at dinner time. The 2nd came out May 22nd, at dinner time. The 3rd one came out on May 23rd, at dinner time. I told her that she was going to break the Tooth Fairy, or she would have to quit eating dinner if she keeps losing her teeth all the time. She was just so excited to lose each one! The 4th one came out on June 15th. She had to work on that one for quite a while. The Tooth Fairy brought her 4 quarters the first and second time and then a paper dollar that last two times. You can ask her any day and she will always tell you that paper money is way better than coins. She is such a funny girl.
(sorry, the pictures are a little out of order. That's what happens when she is wearing the same thing in two of them!)

Sidewalk Paint
I made the kids some sidewalk paint. They thought it was awesome! Aaron was a little worried about the food coloring possibly dying our driveway. But it didn't do that at all. The kids loved it and played outside for a really long time, and that's saying something for my kids!
So, here is how to make it:
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
food coloring
So I mixed together more like a triple batch. because I wanted a lot of colors. Then I put the cornstarch/water mixture into a muffin pan. Then I added in the food coloring. Add enough food coloring to get your desired color. Done! Send those kiddos outside to have a splendid time.
Oh, and cleanup was super easy. The paint just dried and pretty much flaked away, or washed of with water. You never would have known that they ever painted the driveway!

Swimming
We have really enjoyed going swimming this summer. We took Grayson for the first time and he hated it! He is such a funny baby. He only really likes things that are warm. So swimming was a bit of a stretch for him. He did OK most of the time and then one of us just sat out with him for a while. The girls, of course, are little fishes and swam for hours!

Gymnastics
Lilly started gymnastics. She was in total heaven. I was so surprised to see how much she got to do just on her first day. She did cartwheels, somersaults, trampoline, bars and balance beam. I look forward to seeing how much she will learn.

Dance
Molly started dance! She was so excited. She has been asking to do dance class since before she turned 3. So this summer we finally decided to sign her up. She is in heaven. Every Tuesday she talks our ears off about going to dance, and then after dance she tells us all about the music they danced to and everything they did. She always wants as many people there to watch her as possible. It has been so great to see her dance and learn and interact with the other girls.

Boise Food Truck Rally
We are really enjoying living here in Boise. There is just so much to go do and see. It is like an endless list of things that are always happening. One of the things that happens in the summer is the Boise Food Truck Rally. A bunch of the food trucks get together in different locations around town. We decided to head out and try the food. It was so much fun, especially since it was my first time really eating anything from a food truck. We were also lucky enough to have my parents join us on our first trip to the rally. The food was delicious and we would definitely try it again. But I would say one of the best things that we had were the cupcakes! Can't beat a delicious cupcake.
Here are the girls. I love that they make friends almost anywhere that we go
