I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween this year! We had a great time! I practiced with Lilly a lot and by the time the big day came she was saying "trick or treat" perfectly! The day started with a trip downtown to go trick or treating at the businesses. We went with April, her 3 kids and my mom (they were in town for Grant's baby blessing) It was pretty crazy downtown but we had a lot of fun! Lilly really got the hang of trick or treating. They had this giant blow up slide there for the kids and Lilly really wanted to go on it, so I thought "OK we will see how this goes" Well she got up there but then she couldn't figure out how to go up the little steps to get to the top, so the guy in charge says that I can go up and help her. So now you must picture a 7 month pregnant lady pushing here daughter up the slide! Lilly was not helping me either. She thought it was funny and kept trying to slide down on the ladder part of the slide. So I am pushing her up step by step and trying not to fall all at the same time. Let me just say that those things are tall and when your pushing a 2 year old up them, it is quite a workout! I was so glad to come down and no longer expose my backside to the whole town of Pocatello!
After Trick or Treating downtown we went to April's house for chili, corn bread, and mummy hot dogs for the kids, then we went trunk-or-treating. That never lasts very long but Lilly loved picking candy out of the bowels and showing off her costume. After Trunk-or-Treating we went to an actual neighborhood. Lilly was so tired because she hadn't had a nap all day, but she still ran her little heart out trying to keep up with Claire and Owen. She really liked going door to door and getting candy. After an hour of that we thought it was time to go home. We put Lilly in the car and she was asleep by the time we pulled out of the driveway! She sure did have a great time, and the best part is that we were home by 8:30. My sister Amber and her friend Camille were staying with us for the weekend and they had the best time passing out candy, making Carmel apples, playing games and watching a scary movie.
Here are all the kids. This is the best we could get at the time!
